The idea of Ansons Online began with Kristoffer Cheng, who built the site in the warehouse of Ansons and is now the Ecommerce and Digital Marketing Manager. He saw the untapped potential of e-commerce and envisioned an online store that would bring Ansons’ trusted service directly to customers’ homes. Despite limited resources and the company’s initial focus on physical retail, he began developing the platform with unwavering determination, trusting that God had a greater plan for this endeavor.
At first, the online store was not a priority, and the road to success was far from easy. Sales were low, and e-commerce was still in its infancy in the Philippines. However, CEO Jenny Ng and Director of Operations Eugene Lim recognized the potential and extended their support. With a committed team, we listened to customer feedback, refined our processes, and continuously improved our platform. Growth was slow but steady—yet it still wasn’t at the scale we had envisioned.
Overcoming Challenges, Thriving in Crisis
Then came the biggest challenge of all—COVID-19. As the world faced unprecedented disruptions, physical stores were forced to close. Overnight, Ansons Online became the sole channel through which we could serve our customers. Instead of merely surviving, we were thriving, ensuring that families could still access essential home appliances when they needed them the most.
The crisis tested our resilience, but it also proved the strength of our vision. Through teamwork, innovation, and God’s grace, we adapted, scaled, and grew. The challenges of the pandemic became a turning point—transforming Ansons Online into one of the key pillars of our business.
